Sat Nav Bluetooth Question

Might be a silly question this but why do newer sat nav’s have bluetooth ? Is it just for the audio or is there another reason ?

So you can link your phone to it, and use it as a hands free kit, and to allow the sat nav to download traffic updates, weather reports, fuel prices etc (thats what mine does).

Traffic data is downloaded via your phone so you need to connect the sat-nav to the phone via bluetooth.

it depend which one , one of mine has audio like for hands free calling , other has it for data for traffic

I have set mine to answer my phone automatically after 5 seconds. Gives me a few seconds to work out who’s calling.

Some tomtoms have a data only SIM card fitted for downloads.
