Hi thanks for this I ordered and got it yesterday and its a good bit of kit and more importantly it fitted nicely into my budget

Report back with an in-depth review after a couple of weeks, I’m still in the “shall I, shant I” phase so all honest user feedback greatly appreciated.

I had a quick play today, it comes with the default settings for an artic although this can be changed, it has a 7 inch screen so easily visable, it recognises the speed limits, for instance 50 on a dual carriage way and 40 on single carriageway it does has an annoying bong if you speed which I was as I was in my car, but I think this can be turned off. When driving through a built up area the road names are clearly displayed so you would have plenty of warning of a road you were looking for coming up. it clearly displays the lanes when driving on a dual carriageway at the top of the screen giving clear instruction as to which you need to take, also on the main display is how many miles you have done, how many left to do and driving time. it gives plenty of warning of a junction or roundabout but even displays a small picture on the screen of what the exit/junction looks like. It clearly steered me away from a 7,5 t limit road even though it was the quickest way to my house and instead took me around a bypass, this is because I had left the settings on the default artic settings, had I changed them to a 7.5t wagon I am sure it would have let me go. At one point I ignored the weight limit warnings as I was in my car anyway and basically a warning screen came up saying something like ‘your on your own now’ lol
It does have Bluetooth, and games and a calculator etc on it but I haven’t bothered with these yet as my main concern was the weight restrictions and the clarity of instructions, which I am most impressed with for the price it seems so far like the bargain of the century, I am working again on Wednesday and I haven’t got a clue where I am going until I get there, as this is only my second day in an artic in anger I am still apprehensive although I think this has elieviated some of my fears,
I will report back on thursday

go to halfords and have a look at them

I got one of those Chinese ones off ebay when I first started on 7.5 t as I was worried about the car tom tom taking me down narrow lanes . I found it to be an excellent piece of kit for the money . however it has one annoying problem , if the sun is shining you simply cannot see the screen . I bought a visor thingy for it for a few quid and its much better . all in all for what I paid it did a decent job while I saved my pennies and bought a 5150 (it came this morning ).

I have one, it’s bloody useless. Won’t go across a crossroads if there’s a 7.5t limit either turn and you’re going straight. It also takes some incredibly stupid complicated routes for no reason whatsoever. PITA I would personally get a snooper or the likes which I will when I have the funds, for now I rely on maps and directions off the gaffer… If that doesn’t say enough don’t know what will

I know they are a but more expensive, but my Snooper is a excellent piece of kit. I do abnormal load work all around Europe and it has never let me down (yet)!
