Sat nav advice

Hello everyone i know this is something that has been posted before, i’m looking to buy a snooper truckmate any advice would be apprieciated, thanks. p.s i know how to read a map just looking to make life easier.

no idea about snooper but i’d buy tomtom 5■■ and download the truck version for free of internet. There’s loads of advice on here.

have got a snooper one myself where you can set bridge hights etc , it’s ok but i sometimes find it quite complicated to follow when driving as it dont highlight the road your actualy taking and in town centres can make for tricky readings sometimes .

Just go to Halfords and buy a cheap Garmin Nuvi 250 or a Tom Tom, both do the same both very good. You might get one for under £100

Thanks for replying i’ve got a tomtom 1 xl but its taken me to hell and back i wanted a specific truck sat nav thought truckmate looked good just wanted feedback from a user of it.

hence get the 540 upwards and put the FREE truck maps on it yourself its never let me down and its relatively cheap.

Thanks for the advice Mr B I’ll look into it.

I have been using the S2000 Truckmate for a year now and find it brilliant. Like any satnav its not perfect but if used sensibly and you double check the route against a map it will not get you into trouble.

Usually it saves a lot of time by finding a route that avoids weight limits and low bridges straight away and saves you driving around looking for a way in to where youre going.

Would hate to try to live without it.

i would steer well away from the nuvi 250 as ive got one and its crap, it took me through cardiff centre to a steelstock holders that was just off the motorway. now i use a tom tom one and its beauty i just set it to fastest route and away i go.
