lolipop:
Speed limits are a MAXIMUM not a minimum as long as the vehicle is within the limits and not over them, nothing you can do about it.
Take your foot off the gas until its safe to pass,if your in that much of a hurry leave a bit earlier next time.
The above post was brought to you today by SAGA.
To the OP the truck might’ve belonged to a showie; I’ve seen a few not painted in fancy colours. He might’ve had freshly glued coconuts on his stall and didn’t want to loosen them

Aah the maximum not minimum mantra.
As a professional driver you’d expect them to be capable of driving at the posted speed limit providing the road and conditions allow. From the OP’s description, this was achievable for a lot of the journey.
If the driver isn’t competent enough to do so then you have to question if they’re suitable enough to be holding a professional vocational licence. After all, you’d get marked as a minor for impeding traffic if you were on a driving test. Do it enough and you could fail your test which means you fall below the minimum standard to be on the roads.

The other factor in that is: load. No point getting to your destination, happy in the knowledge that you didn’t hold anyone up, with your load spread all over the back of the truck!
As annoying as it is to be stuck behind someone, you don’t know their circumstances (live load, first day, lost).

The Driver might or might not be a “PROFESSIONAL” he might have had a problem and was limping it home or getting it to a garage, rather than stop altogether.
Who knows, but there again he or she obviously upset Tris.
Trouble is if you go to fast the dead bodies start rolling about, then the blood (and other stuff) starts leaking out and running out the back, now red (and brown) on yellow really stands out so good on him for avoiding the attention of the Po-Po even if it did mean ■■■■■■■ off one short tempered wheel jockey with far too much time on his hands…
I often drive old clapped out motors ,when possible I let following traffic past by stopping in lay bys or giving a left indicator and pulling to the left. We should consider other road users ,I take the attitude that I could be causing delay to a mid wife.I was slowed this morning by a crowd of lycra clad morons they werent going that fast but every one had to know that they were there.

I do the same, especially so for motorbikes. It’s being a considerate driver. Those who are defending the numpty are probably as pigheaded as he was.
