take the A8 towards Bilbao from Santander and exit at Km197 for Hoznayo, drive thru the village until nearly the end you will see 3 hotels on your right, one with a Repsol gas station called the Adelma, turn right into their truck park and park behind the hotel. Here you will find free wifi, showers, baccy shp across the road, an Irish bar, pizzeria and a load of other bars/restaurants. And its only 15km from Santander docks, you may well also find a few ■■■■■■ Brits, but thats normal where brits congregate - so it seems. Good safe parking anfd good food available though.

As for a route, the best route would be A67 Santander - Palencia and then just north of Palencia pick up the A231 for Leon, its all good quality quiet dual track - so long as you are not carrying hazardous or are over guage then you can run whatever times you like - dependant upon any local or national holiday restrictions which may be in force, although they are rare in this neck of the woods.

Have never stopped there but have been told many a tale from when i was at TDW

The “Cider bar” in Hoznayo was the Sideria Asturiana (Asturian Cider Bar) now closed and converted into a pizzeria.
