Does anyone know what they are like to work for, Pay, conditions and heads up to Pallet work.
I know they recently moved to bigger and easier accessible premises in Aylesham.
I have done mostly handball Multidrop and wandered if the pallet network is easier calmer work.
Cheers

Have you thought about calling in and asking personally,or failing that, phoning them
Mr Daniel Salvatori is a complete Gentleman. I had the pleasure of working for him a few years back. It came to an end when the general haulage side was sold on to Mike Beer Along with the Drivers. After many years of national and international general haulage, The consensus of opinion is that most employment in Transport industry especially in Kent is rewarded with very similar pay and conditions. Give or take a few pounds. If you start off with a company with the correct attitude then you will be looked after by most of them.
My advice - go and visit the company and ask if vacancies are available. Right now is a good time as many of us in this type of employment are near to retirement and there is a shortfall of people who will work the hours expected.
Good luck and and best wishes - hope u enjoy working for Salvatori as much as I did!
I’ve never heard anything negative about Salvatori that would not be common to any workplace. They have a smart fleet and their new workshops are to the latest standards. The reputation seems to be that you are treated courteously. They have a customer opposite the new yard which might mean dropping off a trailer or picking one up last thing. The Aylesham yard exits onto the B2046 which is a road that needs treating with much more respect than many of its users seem to realise, it is a lot narrower than it seems at first. The road through to the other old yard at Preston is something else. There is another yard on Medway City estate. As for pallet network deliveries whether artic or rigid most companies are similar with a 6ish /7am start and 10/12 hr days. Expect chaos in the yard morning and night time. They will expect you not to bring anything back and to get everything physically onto the vehicle somehow when collecting. 2 expected pallets will turn into five when you arrive at the customer and the next one will only have one ready for you, but expect you to wait while the other four are finished off. There will be some handball off and the rest will be either pump truck out of the back doors or tail lift off. Some of the deliveries somehow seem to think that you will be taking the rubbish packaging away again so if it’s handball off there can be fun. I would expect Salvatori to be more switched on, but some companies will have you taking an artic to an address to deliver what could have gone through the letterbox.
I contacted them a couple of weeks ago and they have got back to me to fill out an application form as there is now a Multidrop vacancy within the pallet network.
Any rough ideas on pay anyone as have heard pallet work doesn’t pay as well ?
As most people I would like a heads up on company to see if suitable to what I’m after and that’s where this forum is good.
They have been mentioned in a few posts mostly about the money as said east Kent wages all seem to be around the same . Away most of the week for around £430 in the bank per week so can’t imagin the pallet stuff being very attractive
