If you want to eat really well go past the CR to the roundabout, turn right and before the overhead bridge on the right there are half a dozen restos. The best of them is ‘L’Albatross’ , I think, 2nd last anyway. Parking both sides if you can find a spot, very popular. Don’t worry, under the bridge 200m is another rond point for you to return.

Glad you liked it. I always arranged an over night there whenever I got the chance. The son, Philippe runs it but the old man is a nice old bloke, often coming out to welcome you if you park outside. His wife is a bit 10/1 but very pleasant. The staff, normally very attractive, not the painted ancients you often find in routiers, nevertheless change with rapidity so I don’t remember any names.
If you loaded Lalinde and then to Angouleme, I presume you went via Bergerac and Perigueux. In that case as you passed the motor caravan place on the roundabout leaving the Brantome by-pass we are about 15 minutes up the road to the right.
Pity you didn’t have time to call, never mind, next time perhaps.
