I was wondering if anyone remembers Salthouse Commercials in Aldridge, I remember the bosses John Duckhouse and Derek Salter. I know they were ex S Jones guys and went on there own, they repaired hgv’s from all over, some I remember where Grants of St James fleet, some Taylors transport wagons and quite a few owner operators vehicles. Other working there were Jasper, Blue, Ant, Ian and Baz. They had a DAF wrecker which did recovery work for loads of company’s.
This could be the DAF you mention.
Fantasic thanks modelwreckerman, I didn’t think I would see the old girl again. Where was the photo taken? I use to love going out on jobs in it, I was only an apprentice and my job was to make sure it was filled and ready to go, seeing the photo made me smile as it reminded me of a few funny incidents whilst working there.

i remember that vw with the letter O,s for wheels on the sign writing …i used to deliver wire to Aldridge… in a ex S Jones ERF and
remember seeing the VW many times. can t place the DAF yet.
