As we are nearing the dark nights and mornings, the gritters will start spreading, and its usually up to us boys to keep our local councils happy with the salt out of Winsford…Word of warning for those tempted to “backload” for Darlingtons…
Beginning of this year i decided to do half a dozen loads for the above company, knowing only to well that payment could possibly be up to 90 days…8 months on, numerous phone calls, empty promises and one stern letter still havnt been paid, next phone call is to the courts by the looks of it. Dont like publishing companys publically but i think theyve taken the mick for far too long
good of you to give the info dont worry about naming and shaming if they paid ontime there would be nothing to name and shame. I think I would have been chasing it up through the courts before now tho

I think Darlingtons are on there [zb] after bridgewater paper went belly up Dave, i normally do it through that “transport company in Wrexham”, not the best rates, but they pay on time.
thats right jimmy. bridgewater took them for £500K
Yes ive heard that too James, but it doesnt stop them getting new trucks does it? the ‘other’ haulier who carried for them at the same time has been paid, all be it 90-120 days, well, ive got the ball rolling now so to speak
Paid up a week later after sending the “7 day” letter, once bitten twice shy
remember now if you are collecting salt from salt union winsford you need too have the epic card too be able too haul out of there, no epic card = no load

Oh great, there goes a good source of backloads for me through the winter.
What do you have to do to get an epic card then?
