There are a few guys here that have asked or been confused about wages when looking at a new job and what is expected to be the take home (net) or (real) wage they can expect AFTER deductions.
Below is a (rough) guide which will hopefully be of help.
I have just put in details of a FT job I have been offered, it works out that I will be paying 14.9% in tax and 9.6% in NI.
Ouch! Might have to reconsider that one.
generally just deduct 23% that includes NI contributions im never far wrong maybe a pound or 3 out
