Got a text about the job I’m doing tomorrow.
Hi it’s Keith from XXXXX. Thanks for being our driver tomorrow. Your truck tomorrow is XXXX. Keys are in the safe box on the wall by reception code XXXX code to gates is same for both XXXX. Fuel card is XXXX if needed. Please take an empty trailer from the yard with you to Sainsbury Daventry with a target collection time of 07:00. Ref no to collect pre loaded trailer and quote is XXXX. An email of collection sheets has been sent to gatehouse take trailer to Sainsbury Tamworth drop and swop trailer and return to Daventry and collect a second pre loaded trailer ref no XXXX repeat and collect third and final trailer having dropped and swapped ref no XXXX. Return to depot with empty trailer if possible once done. Any issues tomorrow you can call me. Please can you confirm receipt of these details Thanks Keith
I’ve googled the addresses. And think it’s DC’s rather than shops. Which is fine. Should be a nice short day as there isn’t much distance involved.
However when I turn up do I just tell them the code I have X’d out and do they tell me where to put my trailer and then tell me where the one I need to pick up is?
It seems daft to take an empty trailer there and then take it back unless I’m going to have it loaded and drive it somewhere. I’m also unsure about the ‘if possible’ why would it not be possible to take my trailer back? I know I could call and ask - but I don’t really wanting to know I’m this green.
Any tips on these sainsburys locations as well. My reversing on artics is still a big iffy - and I’m a little worried that they might want me to park these trailers in very tight locations. getting on a bay is okay after much shunting. But getting in a ■■■■■■■■■■■■ with a few inches either side is another story.
