Sainsbury's Stoke RDC

Has anybody else been here?

4 hours to tip 7 pallets, is this the norm?

This trucking driving can be mind boggling at times haha

Unfortunately yes, although I’ve not been there for ten years. But I have found it to be the worst Sainsbury’s in the country. Regularly used to do 2-3 hours for up to 3 pallets. Many a groupage run scuppered there

I’m never there much over an hour every time I’ve been there.

Hahaha knew it would crop up sooner or later lol. Never tipped in under 3 often over 5 hours. On some occasions it has only been a couple of pallets too. ALWAYS hit break or poa once on the bay as it’s very easy to forget the 6 hour rule when snoring in their grotty little waiting room and they’re not keen to return the keys once they got em.
So glad to be away from the supermarket drops now, people actually seem to want what I’m delivering now.

It just cracked me up that they had 15 drivers in there losing the will to live haha

I happen to know his employers Jeff

Here they are discussing his chances of an early dart…

As said it’s the worst Sainsbury’s rdc in the country. Won’t let you in early even if they are quiet, one of the goods in staff must have to practice at being so rude. Then after 4 hours sat in the drivers pen they regularly refused part of the load due to the pallets being damaged, not the load the actual pallets. I really don’t miss general haulage

From many years ago my record was 5H 20m for two pallets of the exactly the same product with only 3 other drivers waiting, also got spun round at the gate for being 20 mins early :open_mouth:

Seem to remember a small dark windowless room with a few plastic chairs for that cosy welcome atmosphere.

Always make sure I’ve got my headphones and a film downloaded when I go there. One of the worse RDC’s in the country other Sainsburys are spot on. The only good thing is the sofas are quite comfortable.

A couple of times, but to be fair, all Sainsbury’s depots were shocking back then

All this crap at rdc.s could have been sorted and done when the (derisory) WTD for truck drivers came in.
All these supermarkets could have been officially approached by every main haulier in the UK as one body, and firmly told.
‘‘Look things are different now the rules have changed and the goalposts have been moved, hours are even tighter now so you need to get your acts together for an hour’s turnaround otherwise waiting time at x no of pounds per hour WILL be charged, and /or vehicles will pull out, tipped or not’’ …job sorted. :sunglasses:
But did they ? …Did they ■■■■.
No they copped out by bringing in POA, a system that allows you to keep working excessive hours, but it officially makes it look as if you are not…brilliant!

The main reason I NEVER book it, cos it aint real. :bulb:
