Sainsbury's Driver assessment

Anyone give me some advice about a driver assessment I am due to have at Sainsbury’s Stone.

Not done one before so any help or advice will be useful.

Thanks folks

I work there mate, cracking job. dont worry about assesment just a short drive, all auotomatic axors, however the yard can be quite tight if its full of trailers, cos parking bays are at an angle. just take time reversing and listen to where assessor wants you

Difficult to fail I found, unless they have changed it from 4 years ago.

Agency sent me for an assessment but I didn’t want to work there so to keep the peace I went with the intention of failing so they couldn’t send me there, I was getting paid for doing it so no big deal. I made sure I rode the trailer wheels over a couple of kerbs. Then to make double sure of failing I clipped a kerb with the n/s front wheel of the unit, which takes a special kind of stupid, and the sod still passed me. That meant I ended up having to point blank refuse to go in there anyway after all that effort.

Turn up dressed as The Stig…and video the look on their faces, you probably won’t get the job, but you’ll look back and laugh for a long long time

Good luck with it anyway, hope it works out for you, can’t offer any specific advice, never had a Sainsbury’s assesment, or any other for that matter, which in my case is probably a good thing

Thanks folks,
Not driven an auto Merc, but guess that should not be a massive problem :unamused: :unamused:
Will let you know my thoughts after the event.

Well done Neil

Best post on here for ages, gave me a real laugh and brought back memories of a test I had years ago, I never managed to hit the kerb with the tractor but I did demolish an old sign on a corner with the trailer and still got the bloody job, he said he thought the sign was stupidly placed anyway :unamused: Never took the job either

It wasn’t.

Thankyou.

I didn’t say it was, I was merely implying that they have the same standards. Oh, and their transport manager is a ■■■■■

I know, I was just clarifying that it was a different place.

I know this is over 2 years old.

I have an assessment at Emerald Park on Wednesday.

Anyone got any hints? It’s been ages since I’ve been formally assessed.
