walking the dog this morning across a major junction and noticed at every set of lights on the nearside has been fitted with a large mirror i can only this its to help with spotting cyclists and the like coming up the inside when you want to turn left thus trying to reduce the risk of nasty accidents
has anyone else noticed changes latley i also presume its due to the latest spate of casualtys / fatalitys down in london
Yep, the mirrors are there to help you spot cyclists.
A lot of our pedestrian crossings no longer have the green ‘walk’ man on the pole on the opposite side of the road. It is now sited at the crossing point facing away from drivers so they don’t start getting ready to go as they cannot see what stage the light phase is at.
