As a personal point of interest, how do firms legally sack people for being off sick?

Not easily at all Lucy.

Plenty of hoops to be jumped through to do it legally

By employing a jumped up Occupational Health Nurse lucy :stuck_out_tongue:

My Specialist and GP said that I was fit to go back to work 3 months before they sacked me. but these new fangled โ€œreturn to work interviewsโ€ with the company nurse let them get away with it, and sack you because you cannot prove you can do your job

Thats what DHL did anyway :open_mouth:

Im glad they did

Iโ€™m afraid to say that they can & do.

For any employer it is a โ€œminefieldโ€

Most dismissals in these cicumstances are flawed, and actually constitute unfair dismissal.

A good employment solicitor (and I may add, a couple of hundred quid will confirm that)

Sorry to hear that hitch. Good luck to hitch,
jase and Jaycool007 finding work  .
