Found this old bit of news report from 1976 about lorries not using the Tyne tunnel. Some of you oldies could be on it :smiley:

Thanks for posting the link rearaxle, very interesting variety of wagons/loads etc even a rareish Roman (in the UK) towards the end.

Good find, used to go through Newcastle a lot in the 70’s, we were always told 2 things, ‘don’t go through the tunnel it’s too much longer’ or, if you use the tunnel you pay for it yourself, but Gosforth High Street was always a pain in the backside.
