I have been using Ruttle plant on my sites for over 20years and in that time I’ve seen some good kit even some MACKS which i think went over to Canada ,Any of you Dudes got any photos or have drove for them , They are in the top League with the amount of kit they run.
Here you are givover.A couple here that have been posted on another thread by MARK R and KW.English Macks thread.Hope they dont mind.
G’day fellas,
I always liked the look of Ruttle’s gear. They sure ran an interesting fleet for a UK opperater. If you read the artice it talks about them running a White too, which I presume was a Road Commander. It also says they had a fleet of Hino tippers.

Awesome ,This is what i remember i think they were parked up along side the Trout Fishery which belongs to the ruttle group. About 2 months ago i had a 53 ton brick crusher brought in on a Daf i had a sit in the rig and also took some photos ,so i best get a scanner bought ,This should be a good tread as there will be loads of goodies (Any Ruttles drivers out there ?)

I was a fitter for K&P Iddon transport at the time when Ruttle got them. They come though a compeny call Western trucks form Leyland and as far Has I know they are still there to this day.
We did the converions to get them so you could use then in england. We fitted puff limiter valve to the fuel pumps to stop them black smokeing and changed the air brakes some what. Things like fit brake shoe and brake chambers to the front axle and lots of other stuff.
The truck were not new. From new they had been stored in some dry desert in some far out place and the chrome work was like new.
One of the drives called Mike was a good friend off mine that is in the right up
The land train is still about but it is now been made into a ridge, not a trator unit now but Ken smith still uses it.

Hi Peter i have a couple of shots of Macks on my site in the 90s plus i have just this weekend sent some recent shots of a Daf c/w 53 ton crusher to Paul for his North West Trucking Photo Site Just getting to grips with photo bucket so once mastered i will put them on here . In the meantime i will speak to Mick Burns contracts Manager of Ruttles who is a top Chap and see if i can extract some Goodies there must be loads out there as this is not a micky mouse outfit so from Tippers to top weight heavy haul it should be a top tread .
Just spotted a couple of photos on this site .Currentley page 3(Photos older than 10 years old by Bewick)Showing Daf with crane load.
