Rush hour car drivers

Is it me or are rush hour car drivers acting like lemmings??
I say this because Im doing trunking between doncaster and london, and I seem to be finding myself either running down south in the morning rush hour or back north in the evening along the A1. but recently Im finding myself getting caught up with car drivers who seem hell bent on driving under the wheels of my truck.
recently I had a car pull out of cambridge sevices on the A14 and try and fit into a 5-6ft gap between me and the truck in front I even blow my horn.
yesturday I had a car swerve violently in front of me and jump on the brakes, causing me to brake heavily at the top of the hill at stamford near the scamera.
and tonight as I aproached worksop / 5 lane end roundabout in lane 1 I had someone in lane 2 attempt to pull across my path to exit at towards the A614, with me sounding my horn to make em aware of my presence, they took offence at this, and this could have decended into a violent road rage incidence instigated by the car driver.
I`m trying to use as much caution and road craft as possible to avoid situations, but apart from driving like a nun and not getting done, what should I do??
either:
pack it all in, drive elsewhere
carry a load of insurance claim forms ( to deal with all the issues as they arise)
or carry a basball bat for some stress relief the next time it happens

suggestions please

All this stuff should be going by rail anyway…take these juggernaughts off the roads so people can get home in time for neighbours.

Yes car drivers in the rush hour just have no idea, all they want to do is get to work in a hurry because they’ve left to late or get home asap. They don’t understand you need space and care less. In fact many of them feel you shouldn’t be on the road at the same time as them and will treat you with total contempt.

STOP DRIVING AND GET A LESS STRESSFUL / PROPER JOB

What’s "rush hour " ?

I vaquely remember it …I think …

:unamused: Do you call this road craft?

Just back off a little and you will find things a little less stressful.

dont tail gate then there will be more room for those that need to pull in

They could always put neightbours on later in the day…:).

I was discussing a while ago with someone about putting a similar system in to lorries as the Police have in their cars to record whats going on in front and around the lorry , this could be sent off to the Police who could then use it to caution or warn these people about their driving.

The standard of driving in this country has got to a level where someone really needs to take the bull by the horns and do something but knowing the industry we work in and the attitudes of drivers there will only be one outcome and as long as your name is Jack you will be allright.

it was rush hour crawl 10 -20 mph
lucky if I got it out of 3rd gear from spittles til the A14/M11 split
but maybe if I do back it off a bit, my stress level will lower, then the prats in the cars will jump into the gaps I leave, no win situation

flash lights, blast horn and swear at them. it works for me

Try being a little bit more like a duck…

just let everything slide off your back…

try being more electric than clockwork…

don’t get so wound up!!!
