I thought culina brought Morgan mclerdon , Iām suprised there wages / condition are that bad .
I rang up for the job in Ireland to drive all over Europe and the first thing the manager said was : ā Can you make the ferry if needed to?ā, loosely translated in to running bent to make the boat twice a week.
Far as I know he was probably expecting a 21 hour non stop shift with no rest.
FFS Tobes give it a rest
What about Reid Transport (now TST) left their drivers stranded abroad. Thought they might have been in there lol
There was a long court case that fully scrutinised an Irish company that was operated by two brothers, this is going back ten years ago or more, basically they removed or destroyed the tachograph units from the cabs in an attempt to hide the evidence of tachograph fraud for the drivers to be working on 21 hour shifts with no rest periods.
The conviction was based on the paper trail of entry times at the ferry ports, delivery and loading times, banking activity of the drivers such as spending at fuel stations to buy food or drinks, and other activity.
The brothers got 5 years prison sentences each and the drivers got from 1 to 2 years.
