Driving thru there last night i seen a new set up on both carriage ways on the M56 end but i cant remember seeing them on the other end to average your speed. I come onto it from the Runcorn bridge. Are these working yet?
Heard something this morning that the Runcorn bridge is going to be painted and strengthened over next few months - maybe they are in preparation for that
I spotted them last week down by the 56 junction,
theres also 2 of the same looking camera on top of a signpost as you come off the bridge liverpool bound dont know if there all just cameras or if they are for speed
They certainly are sneaky. I go down there most days and have just noticed them. People from out the area wouldnt have a clue.

Are they defo specs looked more like ANPR, to check out all the crims heading back to merseyside 
, (or to be fair heading back into cheshire , don’t want se seem racist in today’s society if scousers are a race

They ain’t WIMS (weigh in motion sensors) for if they put any weight restrictions on while they are doing the bridge strengthening etc,
Just for the record they have them on the A41 into/out of merseyside i think jnc 5 M53
Could well be ANPR but i think they are the same as the ones coming out of sheffield towards manchester. Just seems strange if they are SPECS as the already have normal radar traps on the same stretch of road.
those anpr cams have been near the m56 for ages… i 2st saw em months ago.
they also have some in blackburn… near rishton roundabout turnoff

Id say theyre ANPR cameras too
went over the bridge today. didnt notice any SPECS cameras. must have been ANPR.
It really bugged me so the other day i went out my way to go past in the car. I had a good look and i would say they were ANPR cameras. Are these to spot tax dodgers?
