rumour of work

wincanton lafarge portbury docks looking for hauliers only a rumor ive heard but you never can tell
good luck

the rates from the previous company that did the haulage out of there were crap :open_mouth:

if Wincantons have under cut their rates to get the contract, i dare not think what the new rates would be :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

it might be worth a phone call though

portbury to london for 230
used to be around the 310 mark
see what u mean

I know nothing about owner driving but that doesn’t sound too bad,

125 miles at 8mpg around £80

load/unload circa 2 hours
Travel time circa 3 hours £230 - £80 = £150

Just a word of advice for ye…Dont give up yer job and dont ever become an O/D…thinkin like that you will sink quicker than the titanic

Typical, just got laid off 3 weeks ago from the LaFarge site at Westbury, that was Turners contract I will admit, but just typical!

Basically when Wincanton sub haulage it’s all back load rates, so great if you want a back load but not so great if you want primary.

i got 1 on wincanton (see photo/magnum)and to be honest it’s doing quite well, granted the “backload rates” are absolute pants, but as a “primary source” i (and a good few others) can’t complain, been with them 2 years now, also got one on tarmac topblock (see photo forum/actros),now here the haulage rates are a lot better,so much so,it does actually pay to run up to 50% empty, been with tarmac 5 years.andy.

was on for wincanton (RDL) DELIVERING bricks/blocks 6yr ago and the rates are still the same CRAP!!!
