Royal Mail - the sooner they are gone the better

What a bunch of tossers! The red mist has descended on me today.

I for one will be glad when this great bastion of British society is gone, when they can’t even get the delivery of a simple letter right, not once but twice and not any ordinary letters but bloody recorded delivery letters.

I sent a letter to an address in London (very large corporation so easy to find) at the beginning of the month, important so I sent it recorded delivery, two days later I am pestered for the documents by the addressee so I look at Royal Mail website tracking and they tell me that they have my item and it is being processed through their system for delivery.

As this was important I resent it again and once again sent it recorded delivery, we are now sat on the last day of the month and still neither of my recorded delivery letters have arrived, the website still tells me for both items that we have your items and they are being processed through our system for delivery.

Many phone calls to RM in which a bod eventually tells me that it seems these letters are “lost” and until 20 days have passed since posting I cannot fill in a form to claim anything for the lost items or even recover the cost of the posting itself, please refer to our website for terms and conditions to download a claim form please sir. I told this ■■■ that my terms and conditions are that I paid them the recorded delivery price to just deliver my letters, I even delivered it to a poxy post office for them, and they still can’t do it.

How can they lose two letters to the same company? Both sent days apart and both sent recorded delivery, this lot are a effin joke. Customer service has gone totally at this company, they will do their level best to hide behind computer systems and not answer the phone if you are going to complain, I tried to get hold of the person who sent me an email from “customer liaison services” only to be told that no such person works there WTF!

I would happily pay double to send my post and the sooner Deutsche Post or whoever takes it on and breaks it up into little pieces the better for me, when they get to put their own people in at least if you lose my letter the postie will get effin sacked!!!

Why won’t Royal Mail tell you how much stuff they lose - exactly how much?
Why are Royal Mail exempt from requests under the Data Protection act? (try one, they ignore it).
Why won’t Royal Mail tell how much money they make from people having to collect a letter because it does not have enough postage on it - 10p short but £1.20 handling fee - tossers!!!

I bet Moya Green does not respond to the dozens of emails I am about to start sending her personally - surely to god someone has to take responsibility for this company?

GITS !!!

Write and complain.

Make sure you send it recorded so you can be sure it will get there…

Paul

You need to apply first at Royal Mail for a Job to get to the Recruitment Office, and then ask them what People they employ.
But be friendly as everything gets recorded.Just for your safety.

I understand your frustration, but that auto censor dodge had to go. dd.

I know the feeling brados :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: :smiling_imp: .
Just before Christmas an old fellow who I used to work with sent me a jiffy bag containing a load of old lorry photos and a company tie from a firm where we worked together in the 70’s. It still hasn’t arrived and we are now presuming that it has been lost or stolen. I phoned up our local Australia Post two weeks ago and she asked where was it coming from, when I said the U.K. she replied I thought you were going to say that. Thinking that she had recognised my accent she then went onto say there have been dozens of people coming in here since Christmas saying that they haven’t received a parcel or a card from the U.K. She went on to say that it is taking up to six weeks for a card to come from the U.K. and it only takes five days to go from here to London. The only thing that she could think of was that their could be a large Christmas backlog at the customs.
I ended up phoning my nephew in the U.K. who has worked for the Royal Mail for over ten years and he told me that my missing jiffy bag is not surprising. The government has been trying for years to sell off the Royal Mail and it seems that they cannot compete with other contractors. The sacks of mail at Christmas just kept piling up as the workers were told that they couldn’t do any overtime to keep costs down. I did hear yesterday that now people on benefits will be able to buy cheaper postage stamps but how will that work.
It appears that the only people who will benefit from a Royal Mail take over are the top management who will probably get a Golden Handshake after a foreign buy out.

Rant over, still waiting for my Jiffy Bag.

P.S. She did ask me why wasn’t it sent by recorded delivery :unamused: .

I agree with everything you say!

I sent a signed for letter (LETTER ONLY) to Malta and it cost almost £6, another 50p and I would have taken it myself. I now have the head of Royal Mail’s email address, not putting it here for everyone, her name is Moya Greene, she works for Royal Mail, many emails sent to her this morning, she probably has everyone that doesn’t have a @royalmail.com address on block list anyway, made me feel a tad better.

dieseldave - apologies I am normally better behaved.

Hi Mike, Well believe it or not I have an email reply from head of Royal mail herself (apparently), :open_mouth: it reads:

"Dear Mr Notreallyworthyofmyattention,

I am sorry to hear that you have had problems with our Recorded Signed For service. I will be asking Jacky Akass in my senior team to investigate this for you straightaway; she will get back to you as soon as enquiries are concluded. Jacky can be contacted should you have any further queries at jacky.akass@royalmail.com.

Yours sincerely

Moya Greene

Chief Executive Officer"

So will have to wait and see now!

Yes to not deliver the first is bad,but two is taking the fluid.
Mike.
