Anyone know the correct route into freezeserve shopgate lane simonwood Liverpool ta
M58 j1 westbound only or m57 j6
a506
shevinton lane which is 7.5t except access
You can only enter it via the east lancs road A580…DO NOT go through the weight limit as your very likely to encounter DVSA as they have a depot at the other end of the weight limit and often “patrol” the lane that Hgvs are not allowed, freeze serve is the other side of the 7.5tonne limit not inside it so they won’t accept that you went that way to get there.
Turn where the pin is and follow perimeter road round to stopgate lane.
As said above use perimeter Road from the east lancs. I live off Shevington lane and in11 years I have never seen vosa here and I have even popped home in the wagon through the 7.5 weight restriction, any issues and you find yourself on Shevington tell them you had a drop at my house lol.

VOSA base some of their vehicles at the MoT test centre that’s just before the freeze serve turning, one of our lads got done hence why it says on our collection notes now not to go through the weight limit, maybe he was just unlucky.
Just a heads up, Headbolt Road that runs parallel to Shevington is also 7.5t
As you come from the Northern Perimeter Road it leads to Dale Lane then Pingwood Lane via a sharp bend with traffic lights on as its narrow, follow this all the way to a right hand bend going up a country lane then you keep an eye out a few hundred yards to your right you will see the cold store you cant miss it
From next week Shevington will be closed for road works between 0800 and 1800 so thats one risk reduced
Thanks directions spot on as normal just waiting to be tipped
Pats Cafe just around the corner does a mean bacon buttie, you passed it on your right just before you turned into Stopgate Lane

There are only so many I can fit into a curry lol
DVSA station has long gone, police round here don’t enforce the weight limit, the only reason it got a weight limit is because a dvsa examiner lives on shevo lane/hall lane by the shops and he didn’t like big lorries degrading his house price, the area is like dodge, tower hill its called and hgv s are the last of his worries
its not near as bad as it used to be, not least to me moving here from Bootle
never had any problem going that way, guess i was lucky
