Route Planning in that there Lunnon

Anyone had any success (or rather, found any major problems) using the freightjourneyplanner.co.uk/ website to plan a route to a destination in London? I’m becoming increasingly disillusioned with my trusty TomTom as it repeatedly guides me onto routes that involve 7.5T weight restrictions. And yes, I know I can make corrections on TomTom’s map, which will prevent the same problem occurring in the future - but I’m trying to plan a route for now (or at least, tomorrow).

If you’ve got a minute (and assuming the Snooper can do this!) would you mind planning a route on it from Northampton to Fleet Road London NW3 (18T rigid vehicle, 12ft high) and tell me where it routes you in London?

hampstead heath according to aa routeplanner.

A combination of Google maps on my phone, and the truckers road atlas, gets me to any location in that there londinium…

Fleet Rd is in North London so an easy one, M1/A41 Finchley Rd to Swiss Cottage, turn left in to Adelaide Rd and use any satnav for the last 2 miles, no height or width restrictions…

Thanks - but I’m not really interested in what the AA website suggests - I’d just like to compare the Snooper’s suggested route with what my TomTom gave me. I used the route given on the freightjourneyplanner.co.uk website anyway, which was straightforward enough, even if it did seem to go a bit out of the way via Chalk Farm.

Thanks - but see my previous reply. I don’t need a route as I already have one. I was more interested in comparing the Snooper’s suggestion with what the TomTom came up with.

Hampstead is on a hill with some really tight roads which is why you need to drop down to Chalk Farm…

You got a postcode? I’ll see what my 5150 says.

No quarrel with that - I’ve been there through Hampstead on previous occasions. The route via Chalk Farm is much more straightforward. My issue is with some 7.5T limits that the TomTom appeared happy to include on the route…
