Route Planner Websites

Does anybody use them? Which do you think are the best one’s? I use the IDS one as that is also our fuel card, and it calculates your route and speeds for HGV’s.

What about you■■?

The IDS maps are a bit sad aren’t they??

i have tried a couple of routes on the AA routefinder and its a waste of time. my truckers atlas gives me quicker and more reliable results. for example, southampton to newport pagnell. AA route = M3, M25 blah blah blah. truckers atlas = M3, A34, A43.
i use maps and i will not use routers, satnav or any other gizmos. any time i have used them, even as a test, i have found a better route myself

A few years ago I bought an AA route finder CD, it was suppose to be able to route you avoiding low bridges.
But it couldn’t even route you as it’s maps were so out of date that it took you into towns bypassed 10 years before it’s release date. & that despite the fact that they were using maps they did not have permission to use. (Personally if I was going to steal someone else’s copyrighted material I’d make sure it was good material.)
I know one thing, I’ll never trust an AA route finder again.
