Route advice - Night closures?

Early (for me) start tomorrow, leaving Northampton around 4am to Portbury Dock, Bristol. The three “sensible” routes are:

A43/A34 Oxford, then A421 to Swindon to pick up the M4;

A43/A34 Oxford then A40/A436 to pick up the M5 at Gloucester;

M1/M45/A46 to pick up the M5 at Tewkesbury.

Anyone know of any night closures/roadworks on those routes? Or suggested alternatives? Won’t be especially heavy and 13’ 9" high.

You won’t do the first route [emoji6]as its the A420 you want not A421

I know the road well - just got the number wrong :slight_smile:

Get the Highways England app on your smart phone .
That will list all the problems on the roads

You can even set it to give you warnings on your route as you drive .

Already have it. But it certainly doesn’t list all planned closures etc - only the trunk roads (i.e. the ones with green signs) and Motorways are listed. The A420 Oxford to Swindon isn’t one of them…
