Route advice , chester to Norwich

Good evening all

Looking for some route advice from chester to Norwich.
Artic, max weight.

Was thinking m6 , pick up the a14,a11, a47 then the a1074 into where I need to be

Or
M6. Onto a50, m1 then a14, a11 and a1074

Tomtom says option 1 but not knowing the area I don’t see another obvious route

Any recommendations?

Cheers in advance

First choice is probably best option, now that A11 is dualled.

Definitely first choice .

just to break the journey up
A50 A14 then A11

A51, A5OO, Stoke, A50, A6, A6006 Melton Mowbray, A606 Stamford, A1 South, A47 To Norwich.

I’d go option 1, too many roundabouts at max weight going the other way, option1 cruise control all the way.
As for tango boys route… I’d rather go via Ipswich than that way!

Option 1.

Where in Norwich are you going to? Maybe a much easier way in for you than going round to the A1047

2 words for you there, Catthorpe Interchange :open_mouth:

Padeswood to Ketton this way apart from getting onto the A47 and at 44T it’s not a bad run!!

Has the m1 j24 diversion up to 25 and back at night finished now ?

M1 J24 was open from all angles at 05.15 am this morning Dan!!

Depends what time you are going to be around Birmingham J11 to J9/M5, from about 06.30 to past 10.00am it’s knackered. I use the A50 nip across to M1-South to Catthorpe then onto the A14-A11.

A50 to Kegworth, A6, A6006 to Melton (it’s a bit windy but fine), A606 to join the A1 just shy of Stamford, then join the A47 at Wansford straight through to Norwich.

Or

A50, M1, A50 into Leicester, round the south ring road, then A47 all the way.

The latter is probably better if you don’t know the roads on the first route.

Or

A50, M1, A50 into Leicester, round the NORTH ring road, then A47 all the way.

The latter is probably better if you don’t know the roads on the first route.

Ha, missed this, you’re a local too.
