Route advice..calais RIMINI

wondered what way is best.any tips quickest/easiest route

To help properly you would need to tell us whether you have any hazardous in the load, as that would make a big difference, and is it in any way oversize?

David

Reims, Dijon, through the Mont Blanc tunnel, Milan, Modena, Bologna.

If I had time I might divert through Luxembourg on the way down and back for diesel.

more than likely just a 4mtr taut,or a plain old box trl.

When we were running light, we always used to go Lux, then Metz and down the N57, Besancon, into Swiss through Vallorbe, then over the Simplon, then Milan, Bologna down to Rimini. The boss reckoned it was cheaper and about 300km shorter. I did Autoroute it and it was shorter, but not too sure about the cost.

thanks folks

bb that sounds ok to me.cheers.

No-one transits Switzerland any more, it is too expensive.

I loaded at Zurich this week and didn’t see another British truck at the border at Basle, either in or out.

First point you said a 4.00 m tilt, well what about
trying CALAIS --LILLE–MONS–NAMUR-LUXEMBURG
METZ-STRASBOURG–KEHL–FREIBURG
AND WITH the TRAIN over into NOVERA
you can get the sites for the train off the useful links post
by useing the train you arrive in ITALY (NOVERA)with a
clean disk and a 9+hours rest on the train, the train
is cheaper by day and also has different prices for weights
so if you are say32tn complete weight loaded this is cheaper
than a 40tn lorry,
YOU CAN DO CALAIS–FREIBURG in a 10hr shift
if you use the train you will need a sleepingbag ,some food&drink
and remember to take your passport from the truck with you to
your sleeping cabin on the train, there is a little pub/resturant
in the gardens next to the loading train station ,this does very good
meals

THE train comes into NOVERA which is 30mins from MILAN
SO IT WILL BE novera-milan–modena–bologna-rimini perhaps

fill up in luxemburg on the way, when in ITALY KEEP TO THE
LIMITS AS THEY DO LIKE TO GIVE FINES OUT and these
are not low ones,
ALSO beaware THAT in ITALY flashing lights means
i am comeing througfh and no i will not stop at any costs

Which is exactly the way I sodding told him, H, except I said to go through Lux when he told me weeks ago. He is going senile, methinks
