Good evening folks,
After being a long time guest on this forum, I’ve decided to finally sign up to become a fully fledged member.
Firstly, let me introduce myself, I’m an owner driver based in Kildare, operating a wagon and drag with moffett mounty forklift, primarily engaged in bagged animal feed deliveries throughout Ireland.
I became an owner driver in 1987 at the tender age of 19 !
My first truck was a 1981 Daf 2300 tractor unit with an 8 speed ZF…I thought I was king of the road !
In my 26 years running trucks, including an occasional small fleet of my own I’ve learnt from my mistakes…and I’ve made plenty !
I hope I can contribute to this forum in a constructive way…I feel I already know many of the established members by following their contributions over time…I hope any advice I may give is beneficial to all concerned,
Thanks for having me,
Bill.

As he flounces out of the room…

Welcome to the forum best of luck!
Yes, agree with all of the above, I’ve constantly asked for opinions and advice on TruckNet ever since I decided to start out, nearly two years ago now, and have had some fantastic advice from very knowledgeable people every step of the way.
Like any internet forum it’s up to you to sort the wheat from the chaff but I’m sure that if you stick around then owner-operators can continue to learn from each other.
Welcome Bill, I’m based not too far south of you and run a bunch of horseboxes in Europe ranging from a little 2 stall Master to a 16 stall wag and drag Magnum.
