Good afternoon , have too quote for a delivery to Rome any thoughts re; route?
My psychic power has failed…Where from and what in and when?

I would go through Italy
But would probably price Switzerland up too

Unless he has an account with an Agent on Swiss border he will find it difficult to get one to issue transit documents these days.

Or an agent in Dover who will make an NCTS document, or sell him a train ticket.
Through the Blanc, CH is a pain in the ■■■■.

Through Italy is a good bet for Rome
(sorry to be pedantic but couldn’t resist)

Again unless he has an account, agents prepared to do any type of T forms for CH are as rare as hens teeth these days.
Do Harbour Shipping not still do them?
We always used to get Swiss Transit T-Forms made up on the Belgie/Lux border, cost about 27 Euros IIRC

This is from Channelports website.
Q. What information do you need if we intend to transit via Switzerland to Italy?
A. Basically all we need is a copy of the drivers CMR giving full details of the packages, weight and description of goods for each consignment.
We will also need to know which route the driver intends to take. The most common routes are
Basel — Ponte Chiasso
Vallorbe — Iselle.
I have just noticed it is a LWB van, so as HM said, go straight through the mountain!
Wheelnut, these days Channel Ports will only do them for account holders. Basically too many people have screwed up by not declaring etc. and they are now not prepared to take the risk.
Always got mine at Bel/Lux border also. Much quicker than using Dover as well (unless you get there when they are closed!)
Go through France and Mont Blanc. You will hardly see any traffic, and it’s an easy drive. Forget Switzerland. That’s my opinion.

Given the chance would much rather go via Lux & Swiss, if you run the tolls & the blanc in a van it will add approx. an extra €150 in tolls to the journey each way. Even allowing for t form costs that is a lot of extra to pay out.
But you can avoid the peage and just do the Blanc.
Ok if its off CX then its gone as a back load so i hope thats not the case, yes even in a van to go swiss you got to do t form or what ever they call it today as you got goods on board plus the time to clear Como. so for me if i have the time always france R N 6 and beyond too late for Cenis too much time Mt Geneve but i used that route as an od running red , but that was then so its Frejus or the Blanc its not cheap even in a van as i said i always went R N 6 plus Cenis in my van If I Had The TIME so what about germany no tolls but tolls in Austria i never went Brenner but you will pay all the way and once you on Italian moterways you wont have the time to leave them.
I dont know some years since i had to worry about price can you get a load back will you sit and wait i did in my truck and van so what do you think 1500 1 way low or high
Ok i havnt worked for over 2 years so lets say 4 plus years ago i took my sprinter from Romford Essex to Sofia BG 1 way price 3500 sterling
Thank you for the info ,much appreciated, i am looking at the run through France as being the easier route ?
