Romac transport of sandwich

Talking of Sandwich, does anyone remember Paul Coomber?

Wolf

I used to get dahn Kent every week and one of my regular drops was the laminated glass firm at Sittingbourne.
They also had a place in Sheerness. Coombers used to go in there with a 4 wheel Merc to deliver for them,
but I think this geezer lived on the Island so it was probably a different Coomber.
The glass firm had a few rigid Mercs - boxes and flats, and a nice F10 artic with a Babycham thing in the window.
Do they still have their own fleet?

Are you sure you dont mean Colin Coomber or his late father Brian (aka Pickle) ? They had 4 wheeler mercs and a couple of artics running out of the glass works. They had BS Coomber on the side. Brian was my dads best mate.

No it was definitely Paul, we worked out of the yard by Stonar lake. I saw his lad Darren a few years ago tipping at Morrisons in Wakefield, Darren was only a teenager when I drove for Paul so I don’t reckon he’d be 40 yet.
