Rollover Training

Has anyone done the HGV Rollover training? the subject came up on a ADR course I was on today and as I’ve still 7hrs CPC to complete its got me thinking.
Merc down south run the course but I’m wanting to find somewhere further up north if anyones any suggestions?
Thanks

You looking for something more interesting than listening to CPC mush to kill 7 hours or do you actually feel like you need help not tipping your truck over ?

Sums up why we have the dcpc really!. A thick ■■■■ who actually wants training in hgv rollovers!

I did a course run at Bruntingthorpe paid for by a client it’s an amazing experience. It’s not cheap but it’s well worth it and I did learn off it even though I’d been driving double seekers for years. You’ll always gets some who’ll Diss the experience but it’s a worthwhile day.

I reckon get her going fairly quick and then turn sharply. If that don’t work take inspiration from the Scandinavian flick and give it a bit one way, then a lot the other, you’ll soon have it in it’s side then lad

Bit out of order that comment really.he asked if anyone knew where to do the course.how does that make him thick

Try looking on the Recovery forums

Did my rollover training with Crydel at MIRA, but I’m not sure if they are doing much at the moment. Try Sigma Studies at Orsett (South Essex) as I believe he is taking most of the work Crydel did.
Might be very expensive but is really good fun as it includes skid training too.

nearly there:

Well add the fact that he cant google it for a start or find the information himself. I found this on my first search: vehiclerecoverytrainingservices.co.uk/

So he’s either thick or lazy, possibly both.

Try a run along the A75 behind some o them heading to or from Cairnryan!!! instant lesson and cheaper than a course. Eddie.

That road is sure exciting, especially when you get the Norfolk Line boys late for the boat. Had once overtake me, artic in front and ADR tanker in from of him, all in one go, causing oncoming car to screech to a halt…

Looks like they are building a new VOSA check point place on the A75, you spotted where I mean?

I heard they are building one there and there will certainly be plenty to keep them busy. Eddie.

Terry T, Hit the nail on the Head. Cant sit in another class room for 7 hrs learning about god dam tachos! If I can ■■■■ about in an air field for a day on a skid pan laying trucks on there side ill take it.

Truckbling, Thats a link on recovery, I already have my IVR tickets, I’m only qualified in picking them back up as opposed to rolling them over. and yes I did try googling it where I found Merc in Wimbledon (in my original post), BP who don’t take single bookings and one in york which I can’t get hold of. so no I’m neither thick or lazy.

Grumpygreame, Thanks a lot ill look into them.

Rollover training is actually a good idea…

It doesn’t necessarily take high speed to roll a truck, it can be done at as little as 13mph…

I could have done with roll over training for use in a Volvo Wendy house…not much room for a fat lad.

not much room for a thin lad…pity because Volvo got it right with the no rust thing it was the room…
now if theye’d have put the engine on its side like on a coach what a motor that would have been in its day.
