They used to do a lot of ex works stuff from our quarries a few years ago (I finished work in 2002 so this may no longer apply) and the lads were away most of the week from their Welsh base. Tackle was good though and replaced regularly and they seemed to hold onto their driver’s ok, Hammer might have better info when he comes on line.

Ive heard pretty much the same about Roland Youngs quite a few nights out,but don’t think the pay is that good although you always see them about so they must have the work.
A lot of the work that they did years ago was poorly rated, quarry to concrete works etc, our own transport did it at low haulage rates just to sell the material and Young’s undercut that! Used to run Merc eight legger’s and a couple of Merc artics at that time.

They run Scania and Merc artics and Scania 8 leggers at the moment have not seen one older than 5 years old.
They were running out of Middlewich on the salt job, seems dozens of the buggers
