I did 4 years pulling this show around Europe, including the 25th anniversary, there was also a tour in UK, which used our set after we had a new one made, it was fully approved with Richard O’Brian, among others, making many trips to see that all was in order.
This is one of the trucks in the 1st year parked at the Circus Krone in Munich.
This is both trucks parked with the cast (Twirlies) bus on the seafront in Genoa
I’ll do some more digging, and should find some more, might even have some cast ones
If you don’t mind the time away, they were a good lot to work for, the guy to speak to there is Mark Brokenhurst, ex driver now the Grosse Kase (as they say in Germany)
The pictures were taken early in the tour, most probably 1996, if the the memory serves me
i applied to them said they had 1 wagon based in the north so out basing not a problem never heard anything back though.dont think the money was to clever either and you worked most weekends
Working weekends is the main part of the job, they are a Theatre Transport company first and foremost, and show’s in the UK move after the evening show on a Saturday, so that means working…Over the water things are a bit different, mainly one night stands, which certainly makes you watch your hours, and breaks etc.
