Dunno but anything to do with milk is hard graft unless its in a tanker. A mate of mine done similar about 10 year ago, 2 am starts were common.

The drivers who I spoke to were always rushing & certainly knocked up the mileage, as for wages , conditions etc I can’t comment.

I think I might have got this wrong in my head, but how does he get his 45 in?

I was wondering that too tbh

I once met a Wiseman driver who did nothing but carry milk in cartons from the Wiseman dairy by the M5 up to RDCs in Avonmouth/Bristol.

He said they were a good company to work for. That was before they sold out to giant German yoghurt maker Muller, which I think happened about this time last year.

Muller own Cullina Logistics…which is very much a 7-days-a-week operation.

I don’t know if Wiseman’s transport is now under Cullina, but I’d have thought it’s only a matter of time if it’s not.

Wisemans is not under Culina’s control and at the moment Muller have no plans to change anything at Wisemans they are just sitting on it for now.

Alot of them are on 6 on 2 off :open_mouth: and carry on, then 5 on three off! :unamused: then■■? :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Its not hard graft if your a trunker  I work for them, 4 days on 3 days off. All the depots have different shift patterns. For whats involved and what I’ve seen advertised locally the money is slightly better than average. They’re a good employer, I like working for them.

Likewise. I am on the shops, and yes it’s hard work but i love it. i am a 5 day man with 2 off. Money is good, it is that good that i am being paid more then i got in my last job    .

They offer training and loads more. Good company to work for.

£8.36ph for class 2 shop drivers. Time and a half after 39 hours. +23% from 6pm-4am.

As a previous poster said, time and a half on saturday, double sunday, triple bank holidays.

Can be hard graft, but when i was there i had my own run so was pretty easy. Never rushed.

Hours can be rough, if your on shops you will in all likelyhood be looking at 3-5am starts.

My first 4 drops were drop offs… no customer contact, waiting, nothing… just leave the milk and clear off. I miss those deliveries.

Worked their for over 5 years. I enjoy it ,you get used to early starts most runs go out between 2am and 4am depending where you go

Did i ever tell you lot the fat bastart wiseman driver story?

Watching this wiseman driver am talking he is huge kicking the arse off 25 stone easily. Anyway at tesco kirkcaldy its a back street tail lift affair, i notice this separate old geezer doing all the graft. I ask the tesco backdoor fella whats going on there. He says its his dad who follows him to all his drops in his car and does all the work cause his son isnae capable :open_mouth:
