Saw a sign yesterday at Jcn 11 of the M1 saying work starts here for 20 Months from June 2015 I wonder what there doing now as it’s all fairly new there anyway
The country is becoming a joke. Apart from 5 miles from fleet to hook, the roadworks on the m3 now go from the 25 to Winchester ffs. Bar toddy to Northampton, roughly 20 miles, that’ll be dunstable to Lutterworth on the M1. Think I might start doing skip work, there’s not many roadworks in Harlow at the moment
Seems a long time, must be something really big, considering it took only 19 months to build the first 55 miles of the M1 down that way in the first place in 1958! so much for progress.

That’s because they got on with it. Now we have 18 months lost filling out risk assessments, 6 months lost to csc card applications, 18 months lost waiting for cycle safe tippers to be built and 3 months lost measuring the reflective bands on hi viz jackets
highways.gov.uk/roads/road-p … ern-Bypass
Just looked at the Highways Agency site apparently it’s AN A5 to M1 link road north of Dunstable and there building a new Junction Jcn 11A
I went up the M1 on Sunday, from the M25 to the M62. The amount of average speed sections of roadworks is ridiculous. Especially the Northampton to M6 stretch where nothing is happening.
