Isn’t it supposed to be an advert for Newark museum?

Shame to see such an amazing aircraft like that, but sadly its well past restoration :frowning:

Alex

On the A41 south of Whitchurch, not sure of exact location, but if you are heading North towards Whit, its on your left in a field.

But there is an old jet fighter there with a for sale notice on it, think there are a couple of old cars there as well…

Has Jeremy Clarkson still got that Lightning on his driveway??

How about the bull dozer in the field on the left n/b just before the junction of the M40 with the M42?
It’s been there a year or two.
There’s quite a few down the M5.
The two camels n/b just south of Highbridge.about a mile south of the Wicker Man.They were both moved a few weeks ago away from the hedge towards the middle of the field.
A mile south of them was the T Rex dinasaur, couldn’t see it last time I came past.
Again n/b just before the King’s Sedgemoor Drain, the breakers yard with the ex army Leyland wrecker in white.

Here’s one I saw yesterday - Scania… L56?

i thought it was the the latest ‘R’ series cab

Clarkson doesn’t have the Lightning still, it was a stunt, the actual one was borrowed form the guys at Bruntingthorpe. It was only in his garden for 4 hours!

No pic but what about where they have removed the roundabout on A1 going south (the one after colsterworth i think) there is a Metro side sticking out of the banking on the left looks mad as its under the mud but you get a lovely side shot, Wouldnt mind seeing a pic

There is an abandoned “village” just past raf sealand on the a55 that has been boarded up for ages. I have often wondered why… Also what about all the burnt out abandoned advertising trailers adorning farmers fields next to motorways all over the country.

Theres also the abandoned village out Newark way on the A46. Its near the bit where there widening it. What used to be there? Whys its been abandoned?

I find abandoned villages quite interesting  Theres one around west yorkshire somewhere but i can’t find out were it is so i can go and have a nosey

Ex RAF base?.

There is an abandoned village somewhere around Wiltshire. It was taken over by the M.O.D. for practice in WW2. The signs for the village were removed and eventually the roads were blocked off. It is supposed to be like a time warp bach to the 1940’s.

There is Imber on Salisbury Plain in Wiltshire, and also Tyneham, near Corfe Castle in Dorset.

Thought I might resurrect this thread. Has anyone seen the abandoned, rusting cruise ship on the welsh coast road? Drove past there today and it certainly is an eerie, sinister sight!!! I think it used to be a tourist attraction back in the early eighties called the “fun ship”. Apparently she is not in water or concrete but just held upright by gravel. Can’t imagine how she could ever be moved.

Warren!!! T Claim!!!
Wish I’d thought of that for an ID . LOL.

Well done!!! I think your the first to guess! :grimacing:
