I have pounds!
Just the wrong type 
I got pulled by the Ministry on the A303 about 8 years ago. They went over the truck with a fine tooth comb, spent ages pouring over my tachos etc etc. Finally the VOSA bod summoned me into his office & said…“The vehicle is fine if a little dirty (when was that ever an offence!!) and your records are all in order. One thing though, I’m fining you £30”
When I asked why he said smugly “when you drove into our compound, you weren’t wearing your seatbelt”
I argued, saying I was (I wasn’t) but had slipped it off as I pulled to a halt because I had to reach into an overhead locker for my tacho envelopes. I then asked him for a photo of me driving without the belt & he spluttered about not needing a picture but he trusted the word of the VOSA operative who had told him I wasn’t wearing one. I told him I wouldn’t accept his fine, and that he’d have to summons me to court if he wanted to take it any further. He took all my details, but I never heard another thing.
