Road workers

Has anyone else came across or noticed the bad habit of road workers having conversations at the cones next to the live lane. Three times at the same road works this past fortnight, last night flashed lights & hit the horn to warn them to move away from the cones to be greeted by a thumbs up they didn’t move.

Can’t remember the last time I saw anyone working on the roadworks.

Familiarity breeds contempt. It’s unfortunate but it’s a fact of human nature that when someone is constantly exposed to potential danger such as working next to a live lane and “gets away” with it for a prolonged period then they tend to become a little more blasé than they perhaps should be.

All the more reason that we as drivers should take extra care in such situations.

The thumbs-up indicates they’ve seen you and acknowledged that they are comfortable with the situation. Crack on, driver…

You saw somebody working on the roads? Are you sure? Where exactly did this miracle happen

He didn’t say he saw them working - just that they were having a conversation…

Didn’t you know that a Hi Viz vest makes you invincible?
