Van passed me tonight with these words on. Couldn’t see any other organisation logo or anything but I’m sure there was something. Definitely wasn’t police. Any ideas what they are actually looking for or trying to capture on their footage?
I was told that they are just mobile CCTV for roadworks.
The van gets sent to areas where the workers report that they’re getting abuse or things thrown at them from vehicles. That sort of thing. The guy who told me said that they didn’t seem to make much difference in his opinion.
My lad works on street lighting around the country and tells me that it’s routine to have abuse and sundry objects thrown at him.
There’s one in the roadworks on M6 northbound before Jn15
Seems the in thing to have “warning cctv” signs at the start of roadworks now. I’m guessing it’s as much for the people who try and drive through closed roads as much as the people abusing the workers.
