Road transports from France to Mongolia and back in winter

I know that most of you are interested by long haul adventures, just want let you know that Globetrucker, the Swiss NGO is now doing a round trip to Mongolia with Scania 144 artic.

As you can see from the map the truck is now standing at the border to enter Mongolia after 10’000 KM with no major difficulties and with a clement weather all trough Siberia.

Google Map of The Route so far.

On www.globetrucker.org there is a roadbook with photos but actualy only in french, I hope to find somebody to translate it as its a nice read!

We use to do those transport with a 6x4 Foden but the CAT engine is broken and we are waiting for sponsors to repair it.

I look forward to read your comments

Keep on trucking

exelent pictures i can only dream about a run like that

why weld the containers to the trailer

One of the containers was not a standard size (more narrow), so the hook system on the trailer was useless.

Fantastic pics, really enjoyed.Certainly gives an insight into what life is like over there.

What a great experience that trip must have been!! Fantastic pictures too! Many thanks for your time and effort in posting the details of this adventure for the rest of us to share. Your a “TOP MAN” in my opinion.
