While travelling on the M62 a few weeks ago I had an incident with a builder in a transit pickup he was flitting between 50 and 56mph and every time I tried to pass he gets this sudden burst of speed leaving me sat there like a lemon in lane 2! I was in quite a good mood for a monday morning so just let it ride. Anyway as soon as I pulled back into lane 1 he backs off again, you know the drill! This went on for a mile or so until we came upon a slower truck in lane 1 so I went for it again getting alongside I looked down (I DRIVE A LEFT ■■■■■■ FOR A DUTCH FIRM) and held my hand up to say come on mate play the game so to speak,when all of a sudden he loses the plot, comes round me in lane 3 and side swipes me! The result was a sorry looking front corner of my truck and a transit with bits of megaspace stuck to the side. The driver did not stop and in the confusion of what was happening I didn’t get his number. This has made me look at the job in a different way and I’m thinking of throwing in the towel after 15 years, if some one is willing to run you off the road then is it worth it? I would be interested to hear if anyone else has had something similar happen to them.
loads of em here but never actual contact cos i have been lucky enough to see the signs and dodge out of it. dont give up cos of 1 nerd, believe me theres plenty more to come 
with the way things seem to be at the moment with firms looking for ways of giving employees the bullit for the slightest thing, i now just stay out the way, back off and let the ■■■■■ get on with it, its very hard at times ill admit, its not me, but times have changed.
it would be so easy for someone to turn what happensd to you, into mad truck driver trys to run poor little builder off motorway.
I know what your saying mate and believe me I did not provoke him. I just wonder if he thought its only a foreigner not knowing it was an english man driving? The firm i work for were actually very good about it and the police spoke to them to say it was not me who side swiped him because why would i stop and he did not? Also i take a lot of care when pulling out with it being left hand drive i always look and look again.
Shame you didnt get his number as the driver wouldve been in a deep pile of ■■■■ for not stopping, just hope when they look at the damage to the van they’ll realise what a stupid thing to do, couldve ended up alot worse.
Would love to read the minds of these people who think its okay to mess with lorries, knowing full well that the worse case scenario could be them getting killed, had some numpty in a little mr2 trying to brake test me on the A303 last week all because i held him up for one minute passing another lorry and he had to slow down from the warp speed he was travelling at, i couldve run straight over his little car and killed him in an instant but instead i switched lanes, he got bored and sped off, but it could have been oh so different.

Not in a wagon, but I had someone like that going to work one day, this car pulls off a slip road into lane one, but because there was a lorry in lane one kept coming into lane 2. Now I was in lane 2 and had to brake wery hard whilst giving it some horn. (As in accordance with the highway code to say “hellow, I’m here and i would like to keep my front bumper please”)
After pulling back in she then pulled out and started giving me flashed headlights and an indication to pull in…Yeah right
after passing some slower cars, I pulled in to let her passed. she pulled alongside me and started to give me a load of verbal before pulling in front of me and brake tested me.
Now I’m not interested so i just overtakes and pulls away, with her chasing whilst on the phone.
2 days later there’s a knock at the door. POLICE! Investigating a complaint against me for aggressive and dangerous driving. When I pointed out the above they left quite happily telling me that they would go back to this woman and have words with her about her driving.

all bad drivers should have their licence revoked. I’ve had countless gestures and brake test because i held them up for two mins while overtaking. The outcome off mindless drivers is not normally especially when they pick on 44 ton vehicles. Surely the dvla have the powers to make this part of the car test where the dangers off doing these tricks to trucks are made aware. No one is perfect but most off the accidents and road rage are by selfish individuals.

as anyone gone 3 abreast on a 2 lane road on the A1 heading north near to wittering? well i have!!!
lorry in lane 1 minding it’s own busness, i was in lane 2 behind a car doing 65 MPH when i can notice a car coming up the inside of me because the car in front was holding him up. By the time he got to me i was just behind the lorry doing an overtake when i had the car who was coming down my inside come into my lane with me and we was then overtaking the lorry together side by side. He then got into lane one and i got in behind him (whilst doing that the lorry driver was flashing and sounding his horn at the polish driver who under took me) then to top it off the knob done a brake test on me
after the incident i then pulled off and had to calm down because i was shaking like a leaf. When i got home my wife wanted me to take her to peterborough so i did which means i am having to head back down south of the A1. Whilst going south down the A1 past the area where the idiot nearly taking me and other people of the road i saw the police hele and a few traffic cars heading northbound an thought to myself “hope they are looking for that knob who nearly took me off the road”
there are knobs out there who think they are untouchable so stay safe and don’t join them in there rage because we all are driving lumps of metal that could kill us and others round us

I dont get the whole brake test thing.
Ive had drivers do it to me on my bike, and i dont see the point in it. 
Anyone know the reason behind the brake test, or just something these plebs do to try and annoy?

Your “builder in a transit pickup” was probably a thieving scumbag ■■■■■ on his way to or coming back from a bit of thieving. Chances are there would have been no record of ownership, insurance, tax etc, the usual story, thats why he side swiped you, he had nothing to lose (except his worthless, scumbag life maybe) and knew he would never get caught!!
And thats the way it is nowadays!!! 
one of my colleagues at rank hovis had the same thing. a van rammed him and took off. he reported it to the police and left it at that. he found it amusing that a white van man thought he could run a truck off the road.
i have witnessed a road rage incident between an audi quattro and a truck belonging to a company that i have worked for so i offered some assistance to my fellow trucker and then phoned the agency to tell them that i would act as an independant witness for the driver if needed. i never heard anything so im guessing mr smart arse ■■■■ it and left it at that
