Take a shovel.
The main roads are gritted and open. The main issue is slow drivers, (ie 10mph) or stupidly fast drivers. People don’t seem to show consideration for the conditions. Don’t forget to take a tow rope with and a shovel 
Plus extra fleeces, coats, gloves etc

I always thought the same until last night, I was a bit concerned about my missus driving her little smart car from Tamworth back to Coventry so i went to pick her up intending for her to leave her car there, however when i got there i thought it would be OK for her to drive her car back following me, WRONG !!!
When she couldnt keep up i stopped and told her to take my car and i would driver hers, as soon as you touched a bit of ice or snow the ■■■■ thing either got stuck or slid all over the place, and to be honest you could not drive it more than 10 mph, so if you were stuck behind a little black smart car last night, SORRY
