Road Closure - Taunton

I am reliably informed that East Reach in Taunton will be partially closed from 2100 tonight.

I can’t confirm which stretch of East Reach this affects but I’m led to believe it will be from Asda to the Shell station roadabout.

Work is likely to continue until Thursday.

I will post more information when I know.

The closed section of road is actually called Toneway. It’s the A358 dual carriageway in to Taunton from M5. It’s closed for 10 days from 16th to 26th Sep, but diversions are well signed.

Quite honestly the whole town has been a nightmare for months.

FTFY :grimacing:

Yeah that’s my bad. The programme said East Reach. It’s not it’s Toneway. Ripped a good half of the left hand dual carriage way up last night. Back on it tonight and all week. Their not re laying until the end of the week i’m told but all the breakout and that is deferred so you can drive on it sensible. It’s a 40 Limit ATM though.

In keeping with Taunton’s long history of trying to prevent vehicle movement, I believe the 40mph is going to be permanent.

Aw Hell! I didn’t get that impression from speaking to the Traffic Management folk but it’s decidedly possible.
