Sorry ,I have just been told that due to a Demostration on Friday 26th May:
from 1300hr until 2400hrs,that movement for vehicles from 7.5tn and a larger
will not be allowed in either directions,The TRANSITFORUM-- Austria–Tirol
will be again stopping all traffic of large vehicles ,The Bavarian traffic-office
has reported that no diversions will be possible for vehicles over 7.5tn
THIS means that all traffic heading SOUTH will be stopped and parked up
from NÖSSLACH (A);; FOR THE traffic going NORTH they will be stopped at
STERZING (Italy)

so if you can avoid this route, as you will have traffic jams back to Verona
on Saturday morning,when? the road is free.

There used to be a train. I think it was Ingolstadt to the Italian side of the Brenner…?

Sorry Harry that does not run any more,at present the only way is either

Austria–Worgal --Trento–Italy , height restrictions:■■

Singen–Germany----------Milan–Italy height restrictions 3.60m

Freiburg–Germany---------- Novra --Italy height restriction 4.00m

They are building a new tunnel for 4:00M but due to the hardness of the
mountain make it will be a few more years beforeits finished,
