Riverside Rally Southport

A few pictures taken today

Saw the Bannisters AEC coming down the A59 yesterday around 4.30pm when I was leaving,I was reading a write up in a mag the other week and it was saying that they still use it on a regular basis as and when needed.

I’m 100% certain the Octopus,GJM 768, would have been the last new motor that J.B. Hudson of Sandside nr. Milnthorpe bought prior to the old G’uvnor Maggie Bowman( J.B.'s daughter) passing away and her son Raymond sold the Haulage side to Athersmith Bros.of Barrow.Six years on in mid '66, Davy & Co(Grange)Ltd.(K. Fell &Co) bought the J.B.Hudson Ltd.haulage business back from Athersmiths and the motors were re-located from Sandside to the K.Fell depot adjacent to the Libby factory in Milnthorpe.Ten years on almost to the same date in '76 I (Bewick Transport) bought the Davy&Co transport interests and depot, amongst the motors were still 3 J.B.Hudson Ltd. Motors ! Cheers Bewick.
