£60/£120! Ouch, that’s (Very nearly) London rates.

There’s an easier way .
Buy Harry Monk a pint and pass it to him
I cant see how they will be able to in-force it if the driver is under regulations ie drivers hours and the area parked in causes no obstruction or nuisance and its parked in accordance with RT laws ie direction lighting and road markings / street signage i’d still go to court as at the end of the day its a fine nothing else …
I’m in the URTU so I think I’ll give them a bell on Monday. I think they pay your parking tickets and certain speeding fines if I’m not mistaken. They may take it up themselves and fight it.
Wouldn’t it be great if every Hgv company refused to go into Aberdeen as a protest… I bet the city would be on its knees in less than a week. Riots would break out when there was no food on the supermarket shelves… It would make the rest of the UK take note

you wouldn’t need to stop the food delivery’s just the BOOZE
shortage would work
Theres definately no night time Hgv ban in the city Steve, those signs refer to overnight parking , i think the idea was everyone should park in the truckstop and not on the streets but when that closed the council didnt offer an alternative but kept the parking restrictions in place, on the plus side at least they have started work on the bypass
You must have missed the three yellow no overnight parking signs then Steve, tbh there are a fair few places to park in Aberdeen, the truckstop is open or you can park in the industrial estates, the docks are a favourite for a lot of drivers as well as they are a short walk away from amenities
I dumped a lorry on Greenbank Road last month and got a taxi to a local hotel, no issues or tickets. Plenty of other lorry’s about too.
On a side note, why does the bridge near there (near the ASDA roundabout) say there is a 6’ 6" width restriction and divert HGVs down and over the next bridge? There is no width restriction!

The 6’6’ width restriction on the Brig O’ Dee is really just a way of keeping HGV’s of the bridge as it is a medieval bridge that is not strong enough for heavy vehicles. As long as can remember HGV vehicles always had to go along Riverside Drive.
As for my ticket I appealed the Cop who issued it ( who you would have thought was a 3yr old with his shocking unreadable writing ) deliberately picked me out as I work for an Aberdeen firm stating ’ I should have known better being from a local company’. Even though I am based in ■■■■■■■■■■■■ Speaks volumes
