RIP Ted Beardsley

I am sorry to report the sad loss of George Edward William (Ted) Beardsley,

He passed away last Wednesday 20th of January at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital Sheffield where he was being treated for a heart condition, his dear wife Marion was by his side.

Ted will be remembered by many on this site, he was an old Middle East hand from the 70’s and 80’s and friends on this site included Bestbooties and the late Red Desert Fox.

Ted came to work with me at Energas in 1987 pioneering our first venture into Europe and my wife Jackie and I quickly became friends with Ted & Marion, he will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.

RIP Ted, we both served in the army together in the early '60’s and I next ran into him when we were both on m/e, he was driving for Redcliff’s on fridges.
I last met up with him last year when we had a meal together at The National Memorial Arboretum near Burton on Trent where our Regiment has a memorial.
Thanks for this heads up, I will contact my Regimental association as I don’t think they will be aware of this sad event.
If you could let me know any funeral details when they are available I would be much obliged.
