RIP my old man. The final update

Deepest sympathy for you, which I know from experience is a very difficult time.

Sorry to hear of your loss Quinny. Condolences to you and your family.

Just a final update…

Funeral went to plan yesterday at the allotted time, and he got one hell of a turn out, so much so, that people had to stand in the crematorium. :open_mouth:

Great service by the reader, and as he wasn’t religious, a religious service wasn’t done, but he had 3 music tracks played. Only You by The Platters on the way in, Stardust by Nat King Cole upon the commital and finally Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay by Otis Redding as we were leaving.

The bun fight was at the Teams Social Club for those that know it, and we stuck £600 behind the bar, which went in about 3 hours!!! Bloody typical Geordies. The food was wonderful, and the staff allocated to us were spot on. He wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

One has to remember that my Sister planned all of this as I live too far away to help, and she did him and herself proud. Well done Sis.

Thanks to you all for your good wishes over the last week or so, I made sure that my Sister was aware of them, and she too has asked me to pass on her thanks.

Now I’m back home, I’m off to sort my head out.

Pass the paracetamol…

Ken.

Glad to hear he got the send off he deserved, and I bet many happy memories were recalled by all, and those are the ones you need to cherish Ken.

Sorry to hear of your loss mate
