A friend of my wife’s father passed away suddenly on Friday.
She posted a picture of an article on Facebook from 1977, published for the Esso in-house newspaper and Bob a truck driver with Esso, received praise for his actions while on the road.

It stated in the article that he had stopped and assisted a family who’s Cortina had caught fire on the M6, it also pointed out this was not the first time, as he helped a truck driver in the Peak District who had crashed. He was commended for his actions on both occasions.
This was why Truck drivers used to be the “ Knights of the Road”
